door António ArraisAt approximately 200km of the country capital, the village of Fronteira was the place chosen for another dog show , “11º National Dog Show of Alto Alentejo”.
To the majority of most breeders /exhibitors the distance isn’t the factor that weighs more in the decision of travelling to these events, but is without a doubt decisive, the conditions or lack of them of the “pavilions” where these are made... Because of that it would be good for this organization to correct some of the worst aspects of this event… in way to not "spoil " the good work of year before…
To judge the 450 dogs signed in walked they brought to this beautiful alentejan village,10 judges, 6 from out of Portugal.
To the Belgium judge , August de Wilde, was placed the mission of judging ( among others ) the Best in Show of Puppies. This award was won by the dog of the 4 th group, miniature teckel smooth-haired Mini Golf Dunhill, property of Katy Navarro.
In the “grown-ups” class, the Best in Show, the judge responsible for the title awarded was Mr Vincent O’Brien from Ireland and the podium was occupied this way:
3º - Irish Setter, James Brown da Casal da Vinha, of Ana Santos Martins
2º - Bulldog, Penny Lane de Winook of Abraham Toledano and M.Victória Cagigao
1º - Siberian Husky, Karnovanda’s Beatrisa of Manuela and Ulisses Gaspar
