The most active club in the country Athens Canine Society (O.K.A.), held on 18th & 19th of October for first time in Greece two International (C.A.C.I.B.) Shows in a weekend. It was anniversary shows, as the club was celebrating the 10th birthday! OKA club is used to bring very good judges, and this time was not the exception, with some well known judges, from Great Britain, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden and Greece.

There were about 600 dogs entered on each day, with many overseas entries, from several countries. The show venue in Marathon was very beautiful with a big field of grass and 9 big rings.

At the 14th International Show (Saturday), in the main ring for the Best In Show, 5 group winners were from Greece, 2 group winners from Croatia, 2 group winners from Italy and a group winner from Finland. The famous Dutch judge Mr. Hans Van De Berg, awarded the 1st place to the Spanish Bred American Staffordshire Terrier, Bajraktarevic & Kalecak’s Int.Ch.EurW’03 Milwaukee Ngorong – Ngorong , handled by Mr. Ante Lucin. This win came 2 weeks after the BIS he got at the European Championship Show in Bratislava, and many exhibitors were interesting in to see this winning dog from Croatia. Reserve was the Norwegian Bred Whippet, Rovani & Cartney & Sakson’s Can.Ch.Airescot Gold Field, having big success in Europe after the one he got in North America. BIS-3 was the Finnish bred Black Miniature Poodle, Palosaari’s Fin.Swed.Ch.Canmoy Hug’s N’ Kisses, one of the topwinning toy dog from Finland, who was certainly one of the finest deprecation of both dog & handler in the show. Best Greek Bred Dog In Show, was the Miniaute Pincher winner of the Group II, Gr.Int.Cyp.Ch. WJW’01 Euphorious Burning Down Ceville, bred-owned-handled by Mr. Lychoudis Dimitris. This was the first time in Greece that a Miniature Pincher win this group! The day after on the 15th International show, the majority of the group winner was different. This time only 3 group winners were from Greece, while 3 group winners were from Croatia, 2 from Italy, 1 from Finland and 1 from Czech Republic. This time BIS judge was Mrs. Joyce Mann from Scotland, who is going to judge the BIS at Crufts 2004. Winner was the Russian import, American Cocker, Ntoulou’s Moonlight Show Lucky Ticket, quite a spectacular year for this black youngster, as he was Best In Show at the All Breed Show 2 weeks ago (got 2 more times the group in other shows), and for the owner Evangelia Ntoulou, as she got many major wins with her dogs! Reserve was a Croatian bred Dalmatian, Radic & Zenko’s Ch.Larcima Christi Coppola, who also won the group on Saturday and was expertly shown. BIS-3, Mrs. Tiina Palosaari’s Fin.Swed.Ch.Canmoy Hug’s N’ Kisses, who achieve to go on the podium both days! The Best Greek Bred Dog, was the female German Shorthaired Pointer, Dara Tou Thermaikou, owned by Mr Fragouli.
