door Kiriakos KontadakisA two day International Show was organized by Omilos Kynophilon Athinon (Athens Canine Society) in the same halls with the DIANA Hunting Exhibition on the 4th-5th of April. This show was the first one for 2009 in Greece. After the successful double CACIB show of November, this was the 27th International Show in the history of the Club.
The panel of the judges included Mrs.Elsbeth Clerc, Mr. Angel Garach, Mrs. Nina Karlsdotter, Mr. George Kostopoulos and Mr. Fernando Madeira Rodrigues. We are sure that they have enjoyed the worldwide famous Greek hospitality.
The Exhibition Center of Paiania is a well known showplace for the Greek dogshow people, but the simultaneous organization of dog shows and the DIANA Hunting Equipment Exhibition has caused some discomfort to the handlers and owners due to the lack of space around the rings.
The board of Athens Canine Society has done several modifications and this problem was solved in its majority so people and dogs had a much easier time...and a much better mood to enjoy the show.
The 3 BIS winners were picked up by Mrs Nina Karlsdotter.
Her BIS 3 dog was the American Akita Ch.Shyllar Bear Face Believe It (owned by Mr. Panagiotou from Cyprus) who was BOG by Mrs. Clerc and BOB by Mrs. Karlsdotter.
RBIS was a Greek owned Central Asian Sheepdog called Sadzhar Kara-Yulduz (owned by Mr. Soulis) , BOG by Mr. Fernando Madeira Rodrigues and BOB by Mr. Angel Garach.
The first place was given to CH.Gilnostar, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Italian owned dog (Mr. Romanelli) and handled by Mr. Fabrizio Manni. The staffie was BOG by Mrs. Clerc and BOB by Mrs. Karlsdotter.
The Acropolis Greyhound Trophy (Special award to the Best Greek Bred Dog in Show) was given to the Hellenic Hound Hector (owned by Mr. Iliadis) who was BOG 6 by Mr. Angel Garach.
