door Robert HarrisLinda Rutherford and Ob Ch Sinedes Special Secret, her five-and-a-half year old Border Collie, won the Crufts Obedience Championship for dogs under judge Richard Kebble in a class with an entry of twenty-seven. This was the team's third showing at Crufts, proving that a third time is a charm.
Other placements in the competition went to Herbie Watson and Ob Ch Whatknow Razzmatazz (second), Mary Ray and Ob Ch Woodsorrel Red Wine (third), Wendy Haggar and Ob Ch Aramisty Double O'Seven OW (fourth), Jenny Lunn and Ob Ch Longhalves on a High (fifth), and Sarah Delany and Vanistica French Eclipse OW (sixth).
Linda and Flynn cinched first place in scentwork when the leader up to that point failed the exercise. The duo had the best heelwork scores of the day. Minor infractions put them a quarter point behind at the end of the individual exercises. The gap widened when they lost a half-point in the sit stay exercise.
Photographs of all the competitors working in the ring are available.
