Budapest Double Show in February  -  Hungary

Budapest Winter double CACIB Show The weather was cold, windy, real winter, when first International Dog Show in Hungary was held on the first weekend of February , 5th and 6th. A good event for opening the show season, the lot of exhibitors waited for it, after the long winter break

As usual many foreigner entered, from 16 countries, they had a long journey from Rotterdam or St. Petersburg. In the list of the winners were represented, there were more Group winners, and the both BIS winners were foreigner too. The foreign exhibitors got informations about the show from international dog event calenars, from internet, and from their personal contacts with Hungarian breeders.

The international judge palette could be reason of the coming, there were judges from Luxembourg, UK, Lithuania, France, Croatia, Ireland, Belgium, Romania, and the Hungarians. The entry number both days were about 1400, from this number about 30% foreigner. The all show was in one big hall of the Budapest Fair, the dogs were judged on Saturday in 26, Sunday 29 rings. The main sponsors of the show were the EUKANUBA, and the now arrive to Hungary pet cosmetic products, the Pet Silk represent company.

More foreign exhibitors arrived with not too much known (in Hungary) breeds, Ogar Polski, Lagotto Romagnolo, Apenzeller, Entlebucher, Great Swiss Montain Dog, and the Hngarian breeders entered their new breeds too: Islandic Sheperd, Kai, Podenco Ibicenco Pelo Corto.

The Group winner breeds were: Australian Sheperd (H), Bulldog (SLO), Westie (H), Smooth Miniature Dachshund (H), Basenji (D), Basset Hound (H), Irish Setter (B), Labrador Retreiever (H), Lhasa Apso (H), Whippet (PL).

On Sunday more dogs won once again, the repetaing dogs were: the GI. winner Austral Sheperd, the II. winner Bulldog, the V. winner Basenji, and the Veteran and the Junior BIS too. Sunday group winner were: Westie (H), but other one, than previous day, Standard Smooth Dachshund (H), Bloodhound (H), English Setter (NL), Golden Retriever (H), Miniature Poodle (CZ), Deerhound (H).

The Junior BIS was on both days (and Sunday BOG) the Golden Retriever, bred in Sweeden by Henric Fryckstrand, Dewmist Silk Screen, owned by Sándor Kozák



Saturday the BIS winner was the Bulldog, Sheder Heavy Dew Jubilee, bred and owned by Mr. Stefan Sinko as the Jubilee Kennel (SLO). Sheeder won BIS2 on the Sunday show, too. Saturday res BIS was the VII. Group’s first, the Labrador Retreiever, Trendmaker's Take Five, bred in Sweden by Pamela Svensson, owned by Mr. István Nagy, the President of the Hungarian Kennel Club. BIS3 was the best of Terriers, the Westie, a Finnish import male, Perhaps Public Enemy, owned by Mrs. Pál (H).

Sunday the BIS was Angel's Kiss Top Coach, black Miniature Poodle bred by Tomas Kucera, owned by Jana Vavrousková and Pavel Smolnicky (CZ). Res BIS was the Bulldog, BIS3 was was the Bloodhound, Boheme Du Noble Limer (G3 on previous day), bred by Chantal Laporte (B), owned by István Horváth.
